Urine Detector Blacklight. This battery operated Ultraviolet Urine Detector reveals hidden urine spots and illuminates urine that is undetectable to the human eye. Spot Spotter™ helps identify the source of an odor so that it can be properly treated and removed. Spot Spotter™ works on any surface including carpet, upholstery, concrete, tile, sheet rock, and more. The average life of the blacklight bulb is up to 5000 hours.

Requires eight AA batteries or a 12v 500 mA DC adapter (batteries and DC adapter not included)

Q: Does the Spot Spotter™ work on both new stains and old stains?
A: Yes. The Spot Spotter™ works on both new and old stains.

Q: What type of surface will the Spot Spotter™ work on?
A: The Spot Spotter™ will work on carpets, rugs, upholstery, tile, grout, concrete, wood, sheet rock, and other surfaces. Basically, if a surface contains urine, the Spot Spotter™ will detect it.

Q: What is the wattage and voltage of the Spot Spotter™?
A: The Spot Spotter™ has a wattage of 5 and a voltage of 12.

Q: What do I look for when using the Spot Spotter™?
A: Under the Spot Spotter™ pet urine will fluoresce a dull yellow. On occasion, you will find other fluorescent material that will show up under the Spot Spotter™. Optical brighteners found in some detergents can leave a residue that will fluoresce a brilliant blue-white. Pet urine will appear as a weaker fluorescence when compared to these optical brighteners.Pet urine spots from a standard size dog or cat will typically show up as circular spots, 3 or 4 inches in diameter. For larger breed dogs you could expect larger spots. Keep in mind what you see is only the center of the contaminated area. Underneath the carpet, the size of the spot is 2 to 3 times larger than what shows on the surface. Be sure to use plenty of Stain and Odor Remover to take care of the problem.

Q: What if I have already treated the spot and the spot still fluoresces under the Spot Spotter™?
A: The Spot Spotter™ is a tool used for locating the exact source of the odor so that it can be treated more effectively. Even after removing the odor and stain with Stain and Odor Remover, it is normal if you still detect a faint spot underneath the Spot Spotter™. The fact that it is less visible is an indication that the product has done its job.
