Aqueons' Internal Filter Large is perfect for somewhat larger aquariums or terrariums and can be used as the exclusive filtration method in aquariums that contain up to fourty gallons of water. The filter keeps water flowing through it at 290 gallons per hour. Aqueons' patented Quietflow technology keeps the filter running smoothly and quietly as to not disturb the fish or residents where the filter will be used. The pump in the filter is an automatically starting pump (it requires no priming) when connected to a power source and will restarts automatically if power is interrupted. The filter itself suctions cups to the side of the interior of the aquarium using suction cups, so it is not free-floating in the aquarium. The filter unit is approximately 11in X 6in X 5in with a 5.5ft cord.

The unit includes one filter cartridge, the cartridges should be replaced every 3-4 weeks for maximum filtration. The cartridges are easy to find and are relatively inexpensive. Inside each cartridge is activated carbon that help remove discoloring agents and odors from the water. The material used in each cartridge helps remove particles, ammonia, and nitrites from the water.
