Fritz Dark Water Almond Leaf Extract is a 4 oz (118 mL) liquid additive formulated to introduce tannins from Terminalia catappa, commonly called Indian almond leaves, into freshwater aquariums. These compounds help recreate leaf-stained, blackwater-style conditions that many species encounter in their native habitats.

The humic substances and tannins in this extract can gently lower pH, support a stable soft-water environment, and contribute to clear, vibrant coloration in fish. It is well suited for bettas, shrimp, and a wide range of soft-water fish such as discus, tetras, angelfish, and killifish.

Each bottle is produced with naturally derived components and is intended for use in aquariums up to 24 gal (91 L), following the manufacturer’s dosing directions.
