Exo Terra® Coco Husk is a compressed coconut husk fiber substrate designed for tropical terrariums where stable humidity is important. Each 3-pack expands to provide a total of 24 qt (26.4 L) of natural bedding suitable for reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates that benefit from a humid environment.

The hygroscopic nature of coconut husk fiber helps maintain appropriate moisture levels while promoting airflow through the substrate. Proper humidity supports normal shedding and contributes to a healthy enclosure for species that burrow, dig, or require elevated humidity.

Manufactured through a process that includes grinding, screening, triple washing, machine drying, and heat treatment, this substrate is prepared to provide a clean, natural bedding option for tropical habitats.

Directions: Place one compressed brick into a 2.6 gal (10 L) bucket and add approximately 100 fl oz (3 L) of water. Allow the brick to absorb the water for about 30 minutes until fully expanded. Break apart and mix the substrate thoroughly to eliminate any remaining compressed sections. Apply a 2-4 in (5-10 cm) layer across the terrarium floor. Adjust moisture by watering or misting as needed to achieve the desired humidity. Remove waste daily and replace the substrate completely when necessary.
