NEKTON-Rep-Calcium-Pur is a pure calcium source formulated without added vitamin D3, intended for reptiles and amphibians that already receive adequate UVB exposure. It supports steady skeletal development and helps maintain a balanced calcium cycle in animals kept under strong UVB lighting or those living outdoors with extended access to natural sunlight.

Calcium plays a central role in shell strength, bone structure, and essential physiological functions such as muscle activity. Many feeder insects contain minimal calcium, making routine supplementation necessary. Animals in growth phases and reproductive females often require increased calcium intake. Providing a dependable calcium option in the diet helps prevent issues linked to insufficient mineral availability.

Vitamin D is required for proper calcium utilization. When animals receive the correct intensity and duration of UVB light, they typically produce enough of their own vitamin D3 through natural metabolic processes. Species from high-sun environments may need stronger UVB output to meet these needs.

Calcium should not be supplied through substrate materials, as ingestion can lead to digestive complications. A dedicated dietary supplement remains the appropriate method for consistent mineral support.
