Pet Shop and info:
ImgViewer/32Version 2.8 was released 4/16/2010, and is available below.
ImgViewer/32 was shareware for many years, but has been freeware since 2002. This version removes all references to shareware and does not require any registration serial number.
ImgViewer/32 is a Windows95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista/Win7 graphics viewer for GIF, JPG, PNG and other formats. It is designed for those who want a solid, easy viewer but who still want powerful features, without the complexity of a complete paint or thumbnailing program.
ImgViewer/32 has many powerful features available, but they won't get in your way if you just want to use it as a simple viewer. Among the features: You can load an image from a folder and then "slide show" through the rest of the images in the folder using the keyboard left and right arrow keys, or the toolbar VCR buttons. This works in window or full screen modes.
You can add text to an image with the text tool. This is quite versatile, with font, size and color selection, transparent or colored background, and 90/180/270 degree rotation of text available.
As you can see above, many tools, including Undo/Redo, are available on the toolbar. If you want more screen space, you can hide the toolbar and just use menus.
You can choose to open an image at 100% of its original size, or at a size that is adjusted to fill available space on the screen (while maintaining proportions).
Single and Multiple Window viewing options are available, either fixed or adjustable. Fixed Windows mean that you can choose a size and position on screen and they will stay there, with new images loaded at that location and window size.
You can choose to have up to 10 recently-loaded images in the file menu, for quick re-display. Setting this to the default of zero will leave them out if you prefer it that way.
Brightness, Contrast, and Gamma adjustments are selectable by slider bar. Other Tune Dialogs include Sharpen, Soften, and Blur, and color adjustments on the Red/Green/Blue scale.
Batch file conversion includes an option to resize images as they are converted.
The 9-level Undo of editing also has a Redo option. Both are on the toolbar for easy scrolling through changes.
There is a Set as Wallpaper function in the Image menu to make the current image your desktop wallpaper.
Here is version 2.8, released 4/16/2010.
File size is approximately 811K.
The setup program does not include some standard system support files that are on most computers. If the setup warns that the files are missing, the following package contains all of the needed files. It can be run before or after the ImgViewer/32 setup is run. It is approximately 977K in size.
Run this setup file after downloading.
If you enjoy ImgViewer/32 you may like other quality software from Arcata Pet Software: WWPlus32 is a Win95/98/NT Wallpaper manager that lets you use your JPG, GIF, PNG and other files as wallpaper, with many options. WWSaver32 uses similar image queues as a custom screen saver - great way to display all those JPG files you've been collecting. Both use the same graphics engine as ImgViewer/32. As with ImgViewer/32, they are free.
